The award Meghan received today turned out to be from the state for recognition of her score on the FCAT assessment test given this past March. Only two kids in Meghan's class received recognition for their testing and only about 20 students from the entire 4th grade. In order to receive the award certificate from the state you had to score a 5 on either the reading or the right portion. The possible score range is from 1 to 5 with a 5 being the best score. While a 4 is considered to be exceptional, the only scores that receive recognition are the 5s. Hopefully this will encourage these kids to continue to strive to do well and not but unnecessary stress. We are so proud of her and her accomplishments.
Unfortunately we did not get a picture of Meghan because with a last name that far down the alphabet she was one of the last called and was behind the drape on the stage:( We do have a picture outside her classroom but it is not very good because she was being very silly:) I will post it this weekend if it is not to ridiculous.

FCAT Award
Meghan is receiving an award tomorrow for her high scores on the FCAT last year school year. Unfortunately it is truck day for me and does not look like I will be able to attend. Alan will most likely make it and Mawmaw andPawpaw will definitely be there.

Science Fair
Well, yesterday was the wrap up of the science fair and the the third grade science project. Meghan did not win anything at the county science fair. She was very disappointed but as we told her, you cannot win everything. This from the child that was not even sure that she wanted to enter her project in the school fair let alone hope top win and get to the county level.
On a brighter note, she did come home with letter notifying us that she was won a character achievement medal at school and that will be awarded on May 8th. Granted this is the third one she has received since kindergarten but it is still an honor since they award 1 per class each month. Also this will give her a chance to wear on of the skirt suit type outfits and gives us an excuse for dinner out.
