Meghan and the Air Show

Those of you that know or have been around Alan understand that he really likes airplanes; and therefore he enjoys going to air shows. We went to the one in Titusville on Saturday. This was Meghan's first Air show. To say she was less than in impressed might be an understatement.
She did like the part where she got to get inside some of the planes but the rest of it simply bored her to tears. Another words for her after the port-a-potty experience it went downhill from there. We believe she got about a 2 hour nap during the air show.

Port-a-Potty

We went to the an air show in Titusville Saturday. Meghan gained her first experience with a port-a-potty while we were there. To say she did not like it is an understatement. She found it to be horrible. Of course, now maybe she will understand I encourage her to use the restroom before we go somewhere.

Adult Dance Class # 2

Alan came back for more dance class this week. He has now survived two dance classes. We were the only two there at the class this week. Alan was running a little late getting there from work. We did lots of stretches using the bars. His only issue (besides looking like a football player while trying to do these routines by going left when we go right and right when we go left) was remembering that while you are clenching the abdominal muscles, you are still suppose to breathe. His favorite part was the push ups against the bar. I like that part the least, I have despised push ups all my life. I will happily do sit ups anytime (except right now because the abdominal area still feels funny sometimes - I am told that will pass with time).

Alan is such a good sport about all of it and he seems to be having fun which is really the most important part. And what you all have been waiting for - Alan's quote from all this - "No wonder people do all this workout stuff, it feels so good when you're done."

What Is The Correct Etiquette

Well faithful readers, I have a dilemma that I need help resolving. Alan and I eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel often and I have become hooked on their grits. This question would not normally even be an issue since I really do not like grits in most cases. In the instance that I mistakenly get them, I usually must add a lot of butter or syrup to make them palpable enough to choke down. For some reason Cracker Barrel's grits are different. So the question arises as to what the proper utensil would be to eat them. I never realized this was an issue until one morning, Alan and I both ordered grits. All of a sudden, I noticed that he was eating them with a spoon, and I was eating them with a fork. So reader I pose this important question of etiquette to you: WHAT IS THE PROPER UTENSIL FOR EATING GRITS?

For my readers that are more "Northern" in exposure, I realize that you might not really understand what Grits are so check out the link to find out. After you read please feel free to leave your opinion. Remember for those of us lacking truly "Southern" blood we will probably be wrong anyway.

While I may have grown up in the South, I am apparently lacking education in the proper etiquette for "Southern" things. No, I am not foolish enough to believe that when you invite me over that you really mean it ( I realize this is truly a "Southern" euphemism for have a nice day.) Now keep in mind I am Southern only by virtue of the place I was born and raised, and the blame for my lack of "Southern" education can be placed solely on the shoulders of my "DAMN YANKEE" parents. For those of unaware of the family tree make up, I have relatives that were named after General Sherman (not cool in Atlanta). Please do not let that out in the Atlanta area - they might revoke my high school diploma because I was educated that it was not the Civil War, but the war of NORTHERN AGGRESSION and Sherman was not the hero.

The wig is suppose to be Hannah Montana but the glasses are so Paris Hilton looking.
No its not Meghan although she is almost as tall. Give your opinion of who it is.

Adult Dance Class

Guess who joined the adult dance class this week? ALAN!!!!! The first few minutes were hilarious!!!! Alan has a terrific sense of humor which allowed him to laugh along with us as he began to work out with us. The girl that teaches the class is about 22 and her friend that assists her with the class is 19. Of course most of us are mid to late 30s and older. Of course the music of our generation is the music she heard her mom play. So we danced to the "oldies" like Madonna with Vogue, Pat Benatar and Hit Me With Your Best Shot, and The Go-Go's with We Got The Beat.

I think Alan had fun and will come back next week. He said his butt hurt a little today and that his hips do not move that way. I pointed out to him that I struggle with some of the dances in spite of having 9 years of cheer leading behind me.

I am so proud of him for trying it and seeming to go back for another bout next week.
